How a Komodo liveaboard works

  1. 1

    Board at Labuan Bajo

We meet you at the harbour, just minutes from the airport, and welcome you aboard your phinisi.

  2. 2

    Sail into the park

The vessel becomes your hotel. You cruise overnight between islands while you sleep, reaching sites before the day boats.

  3. 3

    Dive, snorkel, explore

Three to four sites a day — manta drifts, coral walls, Padar at dawn, a dragon trek on Rinca — guided by your crew.

  4. 4

    Sleep above the reef

An ensuite cabin, dinner on deck under the stars, and a different anchorage each night until you return to Labuan Bajo.

Who sails this way

For a Komodo trip that should feel like a private yacht

Honeymooners who want the deck to themselves at sunset, dive groups chasing the slack-tide pinnacles, and families who would rather wake at a quiet anchorage than queue for a day boat. As the liveaboard division of Komodo Luxury, we match you to a vessel that fits your group, not the other way around — and one team handles the cabins, the diving, the dining and the dragons.

  • Operated by Komodo Luxury. A well-established Komodo operator stands behind every cruise.
  • Sleep above the reef. Ensuite cabins and a different island each morning, beyond the day-boat horizon.
  • Right vessel, right cabin. We curate the fleet so your group, your budget and your diving line up.
  • Fixed, honest pricing. Confirmed on WhatsApp before you commit — no surprises at the marina.

Not quite a liveaboard?

The rest of your Komodo trip, handled

A liveaboard is the deep-water way to see Komodo — but it is not the only one. If you would rather day-trip by speedboat, charter a boat for the afternoon, or simply land in style, our sister teams have it covered, all under Komodo Luxury, so there is no juggling vendors.

Komodo liveaboard — FAQ

What is a Komodo liveaboard?

A Komodo liveaboard is a multi-day cruise where you sleep aboard the vessel itself rather than returning to a hotel each night. You wake at a different island every morning, dive or snorkel sites that day boats cannot reach, and watch Komodo National Park from the water. Our cruises run from 3D2N to 11D10N aboard VVIP phinisi, operated by Komodo Luxury.

How many days should a Komodo liveaboard be?

Most guests choose 4D3N — long enough to see Padar, Pink Beach, Manta Point and the dragons unhurried. A 3D2N is the short luxury taster; 7D6N and longer reach the wilder north and south for serious divers. We help you match the length to your time and your group.

Is a Komodo liveaboard good for diving?

Yes — sleeping aboard is the only way to dive the strongest sites at slack tide. A dive cruise is built around Batu Bolong, Castle Rock, Crystal Rock, Manta Point and Cannibal Rock, with three to four dives a day. See liveaboard diving for certification and what is included.

How much does a Komodo liveaboard cost?

Indicative per-person starting guides: an open / sharing cabin from USD 450, 3D2N from USD 550, 4D3N from USD 750, a dive cruise from USD 900 and 7D6N from USD 1,600. A whole-vessel private charter is on application. See liveaboard prices for what is included; we confirm a fixed quote on WhatsApp.

Can I charter the whole vessel for my group?

Yes. A private phinisi charter gives your family or group the entire vessel and crew — your route, your pace, your dining. It is our most-requested option for honeymooners, families and dive groups who would rather not share. Send us your dates and group size for a tailored plan.
