Corporate & Legal Compliance

We are a legally registered and fully compliant entity, providing a secure and professional framework for your charter investment.

  • Official Licensing: Komodo Liveaboard Luxury operates under the legal umbrella of our parent, Juara Holding Group, which holds a valid Tourism Business License (Surat Izin Usaha Pariwisata – SIUP) issued by the Indonesian government.
  • Tax & Labor Compliance: We are a registered Indonesian taxpayer with a valid NPWP (Nomor Pokok Wajib Pajak). All our employees and the crews of our partner vessels are legally employed and covered by BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, Indonesia’s mandatory social security and health insurance program.

Maritime Safety & Vessel Certification

Every vessel in our curated portfolio is subject to rigorous safety audits to ensure it is fully compliant and equipped for safe passage in Komodo’s waters.

  • Seaworthiness Certification: Each yacht holds a valid certificate of seaworthiness issued by the Indonesian Classification Bureau (BKI) or another recognized classification society.
  • Permit to Sail (SPB): Before every single departure, the vessel’s captain secures a Surat Persetujuan Berlayar (SPB) from the Labuan Bajo Port Authority (Syahbandar). This permit is only granted after the harbormaster verifies the vessel’s documentation, crew manifest, and safety equipment, confirming it is fit for the intended voyage.
  • SOLAS-Grade Equipment: Our yachts are equipped with safety gear that meets or exceeds Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) standards, including self-inflating life rafts, Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacons (EPIRB), radar, GPS, depth sounders, and VHF/SSB radios.
  • Communication Systems: For reliable communication even in remote areas, all vessels are equipped with satellite phones in addition to standard marine radios.

Crew Qualifications & Training

The expertise of our crew is our most important safety asset. We ensure all personnel are certified and highly trained.

  • Captain’s License: All captains hold a minimum of an ANKAPIN II (Ahli Nautika Kapal Penangkap Ikan Tingkat II) license, with many holding the higher ANKAPIN I, certifying them to command vessels of their size in Indonesian waters.
  • Crew Certification: All crew members hold a Basic Safety Training (BST) certificate and an Indonesian Seaman’s Book (Buku Pelaut).
  • Dive Safety: All dive operations are managed by certified PADI or SSI Divemasters and Instructors. Onboard dive equipment, including Bauer or Coltri compressors, is professionally maintained. All vessels carry comprehensive DAN (Divers Alert Network) oxygen kits and first aid supplies.

Emergency Preparedness & Response

We have robust protocols in place for any potential contingency, ensuring a swift and effective response.

  • Emergency Drills: Crews conduct regular safety drills, including man-overboard, fire, and abandon ship procedures. Guests receive a comprehensive safety briefing upon boarding.
  • Medical Protocols: We have established emergency medical protocols and a direct line of communication with Siloam Hospitals Labuan Bajo, the region’s best-equipped medical facility, for consultation and coordination.
  • Medevac Procedures: We have standing arrangements for medical evacuation by speedboat or helicopter, coordinated with local authorities and the National Search and Rescue Agency (BASARNAS) when necessary.
  • 24/7 Shore Support: Our land-based operations team in Labuan Bajo is on call 24/7 to provide logistical and emergency support to our fleet.
